
Alan Merris Bell is a fine artist from Portland, Oregon who follows the techniques of the old masters. He attended the San Francisco Academy of Art and began his art career while serving in the U.S. Army as an Illustrator for infantry Magazine. Alan retired in 2005 after 30 years of service as a Fire Fighter/Paramedic for the City of Portland and is now able to dedicate full time to his art. In 2007 he founded New High Renaissance to promote realism art throughout the world.
Alan's artwork has been exhibited in several art shows and was a finalist in the 2009 Direct Art Magazine. He was featured in Best of America Artists Oil Volume 11 and the American Art Collector Magazine. Alan was recently selected as a finalist for the 2009/2010 International Art Renewal Center Salon Competition. Alan's artwork was exhibited at the Oil Painters of America Invitational 2010 National Juried Exhibition at the Legacy Gallery in Scottsdale Arizona.
